Critical Illness Insurance
A critical illness insurance policy is an insurance product that will generally pay the insured a lump sum of money if they are diagnosed with a list critical illness that are listed within the policy. The policy can also be designed to make payments to the beneficiary on an ongoing basis as a part of regular income.
Some critical illness policies require that the beneficiary survive a certain amount of time – normally in increments of days – from the date of diagnosis before they will pay the claim. As with most policies, the insurance contract will be very specific with the rules and any exclusions that may be involved.
